You Matter
By Jameson Holman, LMFT
For those of you who have been bullied, teased, cast out, or rejected. You matter.
For those of you who desperately want to fit in so not to be noticed for your quirks or eccentricity. You matter.
For those of you who have terrible posture as a way to tell others not to see you. You matter.
For those who hide behind self-imposed walls as a defense mechanism to deal. You matter.
For those who bury themselves in high fantasy novels to seek solace from the cruelty of this world. You still matter.
Let this be a love letter to the misunderstood masses.
To those who may be seeking a friend or someone who understands but due to sheer fear and terror of being shunned…don’t.
To those who may be scared to death of being exposed for the pretender that you perceive yourself to be when if only they really knew the real you they would run the other way screaming.
To those who let the inner voices of toxic criticism cripple you from seeking opportunities that are within reach just waiting for you.
Let this be a love letter to remind you that:
Without you there is nobody else to bring what you bring to the table of life.
Without you there is nobody else to deliver your unique perspective on life.
Without you there is nobody else to enjoy your talents, your gifts, and your needed contributions to life.
Without you there is nobody else to draw inspiration from.
Without you there is nobody else AT ALL. EVER.
You are the only you.
You are enough.
You are needed.
You matter.
Cheers!
