Deon Curdy, AMHC

My name is Deon, and I am an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a licensed Substance Use Disorder Counselor. I have been working in the mental health field for five years, four of which were spent working in an outpatient addiction clinic. I work most often with children ages 8+, teens, and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, self-esteem, and addictions. I utilize a combination of approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as well as play therapy with children. As a military spouse of over 20 years, I also enjoy working with Veterans and their families. I believe in the innate strength of each of my clients and the human capacity for healing. In therapy I strive to help my clients manage symptoms so we can treat the underlying causes, healing from the inside out. I strive to provide a safe environment where each of my clients can be heard and feel understood while having a balance between compassionate non judgment and honesty that promotes healing and growth. I have lived in many wonderful places around the US but am loving my time in the beautiful state of Utah. I enjoy spending time with my family, being in nature, and traveling. I love baking with sourdough, and I am a beginning beekeeper.
