I have been called a man of many passions and one of them is working in the mental health field as a therapist. What I enjoy most about therapy is that I love to watch people empower themselves when they realize that they can change their lives and have the skills within them to do it. As a therapist and personal practitioner of mindfulness techniques, I have realized the power that the awareness of self brings. Coupled with attributes of non-judgmental acceptance, trust, gratitude and letting go. I believe that mindfulness and the awareness it creates can help to determine what factors lead us to where we are in the current moment and informing us to choose more precisely the path we want to take.
I also have a passion for cooking – indoors and out. I find that entertaining and serving others and my family is where I am most comfortable and at home. I am fascinated by the emotion that can be conveyed through food and am constantly working on a new skill to more completely convey the emotions the dish is capable of expressing. Whether baking bread or making BBQ, I get to use mindfulness techniques to fully appreciate the experiences that life has offered me by savoring each of its moments as they unfold.
I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I also use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I have experience working with addiction and substance abuse. I treat adolescents and adults. I also work with couples.
