My name is David and I’m a clinical social worker. I have a master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah, with additional emphases in forensic social work and global social work. I come from a background in a variety of different public and social service spaces and love working in social work and therapy. I believe in a client-centered approach and empowering people to affect the change in their lives that they want to see while learning to do so with confidence and self-compassion. I work most often with anxiety and depression, couples, life transitions and adjustments (death, divorce, education or career changes, infertility, gender/sexuality, and more) and do a good amount of trauma work as well. I utilize Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing with many people, but also am trained to utilize a variety of other modes of therapy depending on the circumstance such as EMDR with trauma work and Gottman, Family Systems Theory and Experiential Theory with couples. I’m a strong believer in facilitating emotional safety in therapy, and helping people enhance emotional safety in their personal lives outside of therapy in their important interpersonal relationships. I see clients ages 13 and up. I’ve grown up in Utah and lived here the majority of my life, and outside of therapy I love to get outside to exercise, play soccer, skateboard, snowboard, spend time with friends and family, hike, camp, and read a good book.
